About this shrine
A small, deliberately old-fashioned thing: one fan, one character, one corner of the web.
Why this exists
The character shrine is a genre as old as fandom on the web — a single page (or a small site) devoted entirely to one character someone loves. This is one of those, for Rayla of The Dragon Prince: the assassin who chose mercy, carried a guilt that was never hers, and became the Last Dragon Guard.
How it was built
- Hand-coded static HTML and CSS — no framework, no build step, no tracking.
- A single themed stylesheet using CSS custom properties for the moonshadow palette.
- Two type families only: Cinzel for display and Inter for body.
- Mobile-first and responsive; colour pairs checked against WCAG AA contrast.
- Motion is subtle and fully disabled under
prefers-reduced-motion. No autoplay anything. - Gallery motifs are original vector work; fan art is linked to its creators, never rehosted. A small set of low-resolution canon stills is shown under a fair-use rationale (see Copyright below).
Sourcing & accuracy
Content was compiled from the official Dragon Prince character site, Wikipedia, and The Dragon Prince Fandom wiki (main, History, and Relationships pages). A few notes on trust:
- Book Seven specifics are provisional — late-finale plot points are best confirmed directly against the episodes.
- Quotes come from fan transcripts and recaps; wording may differ slightly on screen. Each is kept short and attributed.
- Fan-maintained sources (wikis, TV Tropes) are community-edited; the official site and Wikipedia were preferred for core facts.
- MBTI / "personality type" labels are fan opinion, not canon, and inconsistent — so they're left out.
Copyright
This is a non-commercial work of fandom. The Dragon Prince, Rayla, and all related names and characters are © Wonderstorm and Netflix. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
- Canon imagery: the gallery shows a small number of low-resolution stills and official artwork, © Wonderstorm & Netflix, used solely for identification and commentary under a fair-use rationale. They will be removed promptly on request from the rights holders.
- Fan art: © each individual artist; it is linked to their own pages with credit, never copied or hosted here. Featured artists who'd like a link changed or removed — get in touch and it'll be done.
